Audien Hearing Aids are affordable, rechargeable hearing devices designed to help people with mild to moderate hearing loss hear more clearly in everyday situations. Unlike traditional prescription hearing aids that can cost thousands of dollars, Audien offers a budget-friendly option that fits discreetly inside the ear canal, making them less noticeable.
They come with simple features like background noise reduction, basic sound amplification, and manual volume control, while most models use a convenient charging dock instead of disposable batteries. Since they are sold directly online as over-the-counter devices, no hearing test or prescription is required.
However, because they are not custom-programmed or medically fitted, they may not provide the same level of precision, comfort, or advanced features as professional hearing aids, and they are less effective for severe hearing loss. Overall, Audien Hearing Aids are an entry-level solution for those who want an easy and low-cost way to improve their hearing.
Give it a try today and see the difference it can make in your life!
Audien went back to basics when it came to designing the Audien Hearing Aids.
Audien’s mission has always been to make hearing assistance available to as many people as possible.
Rather than packing in “nice-to-have” features like Bluetooth, app streaming, and specialized programming—which tend to inflate the price - Audien focussed on creating a simple, straightforward hearing aid with one sole purpose: crystal-clear hearing.
This approach allowed Audien to design the most powerful and easy-to-use hearing technology on the market, at the lowest cost possible.
Here’s how simple it is to use The Audien Hearing Aids from the moment it arrives:
Step 1: Choose your hearing mode & volume
You might need to play around with these to find the hearing mode that suits you best. Start with the volume low and increase from there.
Step 2: Ensure a comfortable fit
Everyone's ears are unique. Select the ear tip that provides the most comfortable and snug fit for you.
Step 3: Turn On and Tune in
Switch on The Audien Hearing Aids, and insert it into your ear. Enjoy crystal-clear sound, all day long.
And that’s it! Experience the sounds of the world flooding back to you!
The Audien Hearing Aids are making high-quality hearing aids available to all, and changing lives every day because of it. Users have reported being able to communicate easier with their loved ones and enjoy their day-to-day lives more than they have in years.
• Audien hearing devices are categorized as personal sound amplification products (PSAPs).
• Audien devices may potentially help those dealing with hearing loss that isn’t treated successfully by medicines, surgery or other medical interventions.
• Audien hearing devices come with a charger. Accessories like charging cords, a cleaning brush and a screwdriver used to adjust the volume are sold separately on the company website.
Audien refers to its products as hearing aids, but the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifies Audien’s hearing products as personal sound amplification products (PSAPs). Unlike hearing aids, they are devices sold over the counter that amplify most sounds (as opposed to amplifying certain sounds and muting others) to help adults with normal hearing hear better in certain environments. What’s more, the product pages don’t specify degrees of hearing loss for which these devices are appropriate.
✅ Clear Sound Quality: Users found that the sound amplification was clear, making it easier to engage in conversations, especially in crowded settings.
✅ Long Battery Life: Many users were impressed by the battery life, stating that they could use the hearing aid all day without needing a recharge.
✅ Comfortable for Long Use: Those who wore the device for extended periods noted that it remained comfortable, even for users who wear glasses.
🚫 No Advanced Connectivity: Some users wished the device had Bluetooth, as they were used to controlling their hearing aids via apps.
🚫 Not Ideal for Severe Hearing Loss: Users with more significant hearing challenges found that the Audien Atom Pro 2 didn’t meet their needs as much as they’d hoped.
✅ Users who value discretion and prefer a nearly invisible hearing aid
✅ People looking for a rechargeable, hassle-free device
✅ Those with mild to moderate hearing loss who need background noise filtering
✅ Users who prefer a simple, easy-to-use hearing aid without the need for constant adjustments

“We noticed there’s a lot of insecurity for those just starting out on their hearing loss journey. Suddenly they’re slapped with this expense that’s thousands of dollars, and they don’t even know if it will work for them, or feel comfortable,” says Audien CEO Ishan Patel. “Audien was created to make hearing accessible to everyone—preventing them from having to spend so much money, and giving them the chance to have access to a solution that’s comfortable, convenient and on their own terms.”
While hearing aids work by fine-tuning different wavelengths to give a patient with hearing loss better hearing overall, PSAPs work a bit differently, explains Hadassah Kupfer, an audiologist in New York City and a member of the clinical faculty for the audiology doctoral program for the City University of New York. “PSAPs are a category of consumer hearing devices that are worn in order to slightly amplify or boost the sounds around you. These devices raise the volume of all surrounding sounds and can be used by people with normal hearing who may want enhanced hearing in certain environments, such as bird watching,” says Dr. Kupfer. “They’re not meant for full-time wear and can cause damage to the ears over time since the output is not regulated.”
For those wondering if Audien devices are a good substitute for hearing aids, Dr. Kupfer isn’t quite sold on the technology. “Hearing aids are capable of more advanced adjustments and automatic features for the absolute best everyday clarity. People with minor hearing issues can consider Audien for one-on-one conversations, as the aids may provide a modest boost in volume only. If it sounds artificial, there’s no way to change that sound quality, which is a drawback. If someone is active and around a lot of background noise, I would recommend searching for a product that is more adjustable for clarity and with better noise cancellation,” she explains.
Justing the Atom 2 series is as simple as pressing a button to change the volume. ( You’ll press and hold the button to change the hearing mode.) Purchase packets for the ITC Atom series include a small screwdriver that allows you to adjust the volume. Simply turn the dial clockwise or counterclockwise as needed. For those with limited dexterity or poor vision, adjusting such a tiny volume control could be difficult.
To adjust the BTE device, press the button on the back of the device. You can adjust the volume and toggle between environmental settings on the Audien BTE.
Audien Hearing offers hearing aids online and through select Walmart stores. Audien’s hearing aids don’t require a doctor’s approval and ship directly to your door. There are multiple hearing aid options available, split into three series:

• Atom 2 Series: The Atom 2 series hearing aids are the smallest in size. Pricing starts at $189 per pair. The $289 Atom Pro 2 is the company’s most popular model.
• Ion Series: These behind-the-ear hearing aids are Audien’s top-of-the-line models. Prices start at $489 per pair. They feature directional sound technology and background noise cancellation.
